At The Altadena Coalition, we believe that only community can rebuild community. We will empower one another to recover, overcome and thrive in response to the Eaton fire of January 2025. Through collective advocacy, transparent dialogue, and community-driven solutions, we aim to protect homeowners, prevent displacement, improve resilience and ensure a future that honors the unique legacy of our town for generations to come.

Freddy Sayegh is a 51-year resident of Altadena, deeply connected to its culture, history, and community spirit. Like thousands of Altadenans, he and his family and many relatives were displaced by the fires.
Freddy formed The Altadena Coalition because this collective loss strengthened his resolve to ensure that rebuilding efforts prioritize the needs of local families, protect community assets, safeguard historical integrity, and create sustainable infrastructure that will protect future generations.
He understands the emotional and financial toll the disaster has taken. He and the coalition promise to fight to address gaps in federal aid, streamline the permitting process, and protect homeowners — especially the uninsured and underinsured — from predatory developers. His work emphasizes the importance of sustainable housing, small business revitalization, and the prevention of development that does not respect Altadena’s unique character and diverse culture.
Freddy will draw on his experience as a longtime resident, community advocate, and trial attorney (in criminal defense law) to ensure that Altadena rises stronger and more united than ever. He is also a team builder, and he has assembled a core group of experts in reconstruction, fire safety, recovery funding and other disciplines necessary to a successful community rebuilding effort.
